# Your Home Checklist

> The first steps to get the most out of MyTruv after you sign up.

After you sign up, MyTruv shows a checklist with up to six things to set up - on the **Home** screen in the iOS app, and on the **Dashboard** in the web app. Each row takes you straight to the right place - tap and you're there. As you finish steps, they move to a "Completed" section at the bottom, and once everything is done, the checklist disappears.

## The steps

### Set up AI money guide

Tap to walk through assistant setup - choose an avatar, give your assistant a name, and answer a few quick questions about your financial goals. Your assistant uses this to handle questions, insights, and recommendations based on your money. You can change any of this later in **Settings → Assistant**.

### Connect main spending account

Tap to connect your primary checking account. This is the most important step - your transactions, cash flow, spending breakdowns, and most insights depend on this connection.

### Get a free week of MyTruv Pro

Tap to start a free trial. MyTruv Pro unlocks multiple bank and payroll connections plus other advanced features. Always easy to cancel from your subscription settings.

### Ask your AI a question

Tap to jump straight into a conversation with your AI assistant. The first prompt is pre-filled based on your most interesting insight, so you can try the assistant on something concrete to your finances.

### Connect employer or payroll provider

Tap to connect your payroll provider. This gives you visibility into income, deductions, and pay statements alongside your spending data.

### Connect your credit history

Tap to connect your credit history through its own secure connection - separate from your bank and payroll. This unlocks the **Credit** tab with your score, its history, the factors moving it, your accounts, and what's changed over time. See [Credit History](/accounts/credit-history).

## Tips

* Steps don't have to be done in order - pick what feels useful first.
* A step disappears from the active list and moves to "Completed" once it's done. You can still tap it from "Completed" to revisit.
* Refresh the screen if you completed a step in another part of the app and it hasn't updated yet.
* **Connect your credit history** shows once Credit History reaches your account - it is rolling out gradually, so if you don't see this step yet, no action is needed.
