# How to Search Your Transactions

> Find specific transactions quickly using MyTruv's search.

With potentially thousands of transactions across your connected accounts, search makes it easy to jump to exactly what you're looking for.

## How to search

<Note>
  **On the web** ([app.mytruv.com](https://app.mytruv.com/login)) - on the **Transactions** page, use the **Search merchant** field at the top of the list. Results filter as you type and match merchant names.

  **On iOS** - on the **Transactions** tab, use the search bar at the top of the list. It matches both merchant names and category names.

  iOS also has a separate **Search** tab for global search across transactions, accounts, insights, and more - see [Searching Your Financial Data](/search/searching-your-data).
</Note>

## Search tips

* **Search by merchant** - type "Starbucks" or "Amazon" to find every transaction from that merchant.
* **Search by partial name** - typing the first few letters of a merchant is enough; you don't need the full name.
* **Combine with filters** - apply category, account, date, or amount filters in addition to the search to narrow down further.

## Sorting your results

Both platforms support the same sort options:

* **Newest first** (default)
* **Oldest first**
* **Amount: high to low**
* **Amount: low to high**

Sort works whether or not you have a search term active.

<Tip>If you don't remember the merchant name, try a keyword for what you bought (e.g. "coffee", "rideshare"). On iOS the search also matches against category names, so a generic word may still pull up the right results.</Tip>
