Credit History

Custom Spending Categories

When changing a transaction’s category on the web, you can now type a name that is not in the list and select Create to add it as your own custom category. Custom categories work the same as built-in ones - apply to just this transaction or to all future transactions from the same merchant.

Side Panel for Detail Views

Transaction details, recurring bill details, and credit account drill-downs now open in a floating side panel on desktop instead of replacing the page. Close the panel and you return to exactly where you were. On mobile, details continue to open as a bottom drawer.

Status Badges in Transaction Detail

When a transaction has been marked as recurring or as an internal transfer (for example, by the AI assistant), a badge now appears in the transaction detail view. Previously these markings were invisible on the web.

Rate AI Chat Responses

You can now give a thumbs up or thumbs down on individual AI assistant responses in chat. Ratings persist across sessions.

Customization Badges in Transaction Detail

When you have renamed a merchant or changed its category, a Custom badge now appears next to that field in the detail view. If a transaction is hidden from totals, a Hidden from totals badge appears below the amount. Both make it easy to see at a glance what you have changed versus what your bank reported.

Two new actions in the transaction detail menu on web round out the controls added last week. Rename merchant lets you give a cleaner label to one transaction or every transaction from the same merchant - the bank’s original name stays as secondary text. Restore bank defaults reverses any customizations (category, name, or visibility) for one transaction or all transactions from the same merchant at once.

Consistent Labels Across Web and iOS

Several web labels now match their iOS counterparts: the page previously called Expenses is now Spending, Ask AI in the sidebar is now Assistant, and Billing in Settings is now Membership. Everything is in the same place - just under the names you may already know from the iOS app.

The AI assistant now has an automatic fallback model. If the primary AI provider returns an error or times out, your response completes via a backup - no more “Internal Server Error” messages or 60-second hangs. The AI assistant also works immediately for new users before they connect a bank.

Recurring Bills Accuracy

Fast food and restaurant transactions are no longer incorrectly flagged as recurring expenses. Your recurring bills list now shows only genuine subscriptions and regular charges.

New Income Categories

Bank interest, investment returns, and other deposit types now appear with the correct labels in your Income breakdown instead of being grouped generically.

Public API: Bearer Token Auth

The public REST API now uses Authorization: Bearer <token> instead of Basic Auth. This is a breaking change if you used the old Basic base64(user_id:token) format - update your Authorization header to Bearer <your-token>. Personal access tokens can be generated at app.mytruv.com/login; each is a hex string with a pat_ prefix.The faster v2 endpoints (balances, transactions, spending) are now also accessible via personal access token and MCP broker tokens.
