How to disconnect
- Open Banks, payroll & credit - it’s in the sidebar on the web, and under Settings on iOS
- Choose Disconnect for the connection you want to remove - on the web it’s in the connection card’s menu, and on iOS it’s on the connection’s detail screen
- Confirm when MyTruv asks you to
What happens when you disconnect
- The connection and every account under it disappear from your accounts list
- Associated data (transactions, balances, history) is removed
- Your net worth recalculates without those accounts
- Spending, cash flow, and income figures update to exclude the removed data
Disconnecting from MyTruv does not affect your account at the institution in any way. It only removes the connection inside MyTruv.
If you’ve used the Hide or Change category actions on individual transactions, those changes are tied to specific transactions and don’t carry over after a disconnect-and-reconnect - the transactions will come back visible and in their original category. Recategorizations applied to “all transactions from this merchant” are the exception: those rules are stored at the merchant level, so they keep applying to that merchant’s transactions - including the ones that come back after you reconnect. See Custom Category Names.
