MyTruv sends notifications about your financial activity - for example, upcoming bills, large or unusual transactions, new insights, account-safety events, or others. The Notifications page is where you see the full list of categories currently available and choose which ones to receive. Where an alert shows up after it is sent depends on the platform - see Catching up on what you missed.

Notification categories

On the web, notification settings are organized into eight groups:
  • Income - paychecks and deposits landing in your accounts
  • Spending - large charges, fees, and low balances
  • Bills - reminders before a bill is due, high card balances, and subscription changes
  • Problems - payments that did not go through, suspicious activity, and connection alerts
  • Credit - changes to your credit score or report
  • Net worth - investment updates and ways to save
  • Reviews - transaction reviews and weekly or monthly recaps
  • From us - tips and product news
Each group has individual categories you can toggle on or off in Settings → Notifications.

Channels

  • Push (iOS only) - alerts that appear on your iPhone as they happen.
  • Email (iOS and web) - the same alerts delivered to the email address on your MyTruv account.
You can mix and match per category - for example, get a push when a large transaction lands, but only an email for the weekly recap.

Enable push notifications (iOS)

If you haven’t given MyTruv permission to send push notifications, the Notifications page shows a prompt at the top to enable them. If iOS has already remembered a “don’t allow” choice, use the option to open your system settings from the same page and turn notifications on for MyTruv there. To receive push notifications, you also need an active internet connection and the MyTruv app installed - push stops working if you uninstall.

Catching up on what you missed

On the web - there is no separate inbox. What MyTruv has to tell you arrives as a card in your Feed. Feed is marked while you have cards you haven’t read, and the mark goes once you have opened the Feed, whether or not you got to the end of it. The desktop app also carries the number of unread cards on its icon, and that count follows what you have actually read. On iOS 1.9 and later - the Inbox is gone and iOS works like the web: what MyTruv has to tell you arrives as a card in your Feed, and the app icon shows the number of Feed cards you haven’t read. The badge counts down as you read cards and clears once none are unread. On iOS 1.8 and earlier - the alerts you have already been sent are kept in the Notifications Inbox.
Turning a category off here stops the alert, not the card: the matching insight still shows up in your Feed.
