If you created your account with your phone number, the email you added during setup was never confirmed. Verifying it means signing in with that address reaches this account instead of starting a new, empty one.
This applies to accounts created with a phone number, and is currently available in the web app. If you signed up with an email address, it was confirmed at registration and there’s nothing to do.

Where to find it

Verify your email appears in two places, and both open the same flow:
  • The setup checklist on your home screen.
  • Settings → Profile.

Verifying

  1. Open Verify your email.
  2. Select Send code. A six-digit code goes to the address on your profile.
  3. Enter the code and confirm.
A few things worth knowing:
  • Nothing is sent until you select Send code.
  • If the code doesn’t arrive, you can request another after a short wait. Requests are limited, so if resending stays unavailable, give it a few minutes.
  • A wrong or expired code leaves what you typed in place, so you can fix a digit rather than start over.

Changing the address first

  • Until it’s verified, you can still change it: select Wrong email? Change it, edit the address on your profile, then start again.
  • After it’s verified, it’s locked and can’t be changed in the app.

If the address belongs to another account

Usually this means an older account created with that email. What happens depends on what’s in it. The other account is empty - no connected accounts, no subscription:
  • It’s folded into the account you’re in, and MyTruv tells you so.
  • Nothing is lost, and you carry on where you were.
The other account has connected accounts or a subscription:
  • MyTruv stops and says the address is already in use.
  • Neither account is changed, and no code is sent.
  • Sign in to that account if it’s the one holding your data, or delete it and verify the address here.
If you’re not sure which account holds your data, contact support before deleting anything.

After verifying

  • Your profile shows the address as verified, and the field becomes read-only.
  • The checklist item is marked done.
  • Your phone number and your email address both sign you in to the same account.
