PIN lock is currently available on iOS. The web app uses your Auth0 session - sign out from Settings when you’re done on a shared computer.
A PIN locks the MyTruv app behind a 4-digit code. Use it if you’d rather type a code than authenticate with biometrics.

Setting up a PIN

  1. Open MyTruv and go to Settings → Security & Privacy.
  2. Tap Create PIN.
  3. Enter a 4-digit PIN.
  4. Confirm by entering the same PIN again.
You’ll see a confirmation once the PIN is saved.

Changing your PIN

  1. Open Settings → Security & Privacy.
  2. Tap Change PIN.
  3. Enter your current PIN.
  4. Enter your new 4-digit PIN.
  5. Confirm by entering the new PIN again.

PIN and biometric authentication are mutually exclusive

You can use a PIN or biometric authentication, but not both at the same time. Setting up a PIN disables biometric, and enabling biometric replaces an existing PIN. To switch, toggle the one you want in Security & Privacy.

Too many wrong attempts

After 5 wrong PIN entries in a row, the keypad locks for 30 seconds with a visible countdown (“Try again in N seconds”). Once the countdown finishes, you can keep entering PINs. The lock screen also offers a Log out button you can use at any time to sign out and start fresh.

PIN best practices

  • Choose a PIN you’ll remember. PIN recovery is limited - if you can’t remember it, contact support.
  • Don’t reuse PINs. Avoid the same PIN you use for your bank card, phone, or other apps.
  • Avoid obvious patterns. Sequences like 1234, repeated digits like 0000, or your birth year are easy to guess.
  • Keep it private. Never share your PIN.
