MyTruv automatically tracks your spending across all connected accounts and surfaces it in one place, so you can see at a glance where your money is going this month and how that compares to last month.

Where to find spending

On the web (app.mytruv.com) - open Spending from the sidebar. On iOS - open the Spending tab on the main tab bar.

What you’ll see

The Spending page combines several views of your outflows:
  • Month comparison - this month’s spending side-by-side with last month
  • Spending over time - a trend chart you can switch between days, weeks, months, or quarters
  • Spending breakdown - a donut chart with the top categories (or top merchants - switch with the By category / By merchant toggle) and an “Other” bucket for the long tail
  • Top spending transactions - the largest individual transactions for the selected month
For deeper analysis, see Spending by Category and Comparing Spending Across Periods.

Spending calendar

iOS only.
The Spending by day calendar shows each day’s spending as a heat map, so heavier days stand out at a glance. Tap any day to see exactly what you spent.

Ask AI prompts

Web only.
On the web, Ask AI suggestion cards sit next to the trend and breakdown charts with prompts like “Where is most of my money going?” Click one to start an AI conversation with that question pre-filled.

How spending is calculated

MyTruv calculates your spending from outgoing transactions on all your connected accounts. It automatically excludes:
  • Transfers between your own accounts - moving money between checking and savings doesn’t count as spending
  • Credit card payments - so a payment from checking to a credit card doesn’t double-count with the original purchases
  • Investment contributions - buying assets isn’t spending in the budget sense
The result is an accurate picture of money you actually spent.
Glance at the Spending page weekly to stay aware of your habits and catch any unexpected charges early.
